Thank you to the 25 registrants who attended Sophie Barno’s bird walk at Marine Park on Sunday, August 27th. We saw Great Egrets, Yellow-crowned Night-Herons, Northern Mockingbirds, and Song Sparrows. We also observed other saltmarsh species such as sand fiddler crabs, sea lavender, and salt hay grass. Finally, we discussed the ecological benefits of saltmarshes and the threats that humans and climate change pose to this sensitive habitat.
