We lucked out with a postponed thunderstorm instead of a postponed event. On Saturday 115 outstanding volunteers showed up to help clean up Oakwood Beach! We removed 1500lbs (!!!) of trash from the shoreline.
Very grateful City Council Members David Carr and Joe Borelli for supporting our environmental stewardship programs. CM Carr was able to attend in-person and support volunteers as well for our first beach cleanup of the season!
And thanks to our program partners: the Natural Resources Protection Association, the City Parks Foundation, United Activities Unlimited, Liberty Coca Cola and Trout Unlimited 447 – New York City.
