Our biggest Baisley Pond cleanup to date! We started off swimmingly with a press conference from event sponsor Council Speaker Adams. Also in attendance included Parks Commissioner Donoghue, CM Brooks-Powers and DSNY.
Together 70 volunteers removed over 40 bags of trash from in and around the pond including such finds as a broken ice rescue ladder, 1000 feet of fishing line and kite string, and a prolific amount of confetti. Your efforts helped create a safer environment for wildlife and park-goers alike.
Huge shout out to DJ Netts and the SEQ Cleanup team for their help organizing and recruiting so many volunteers and catering the event.
