Thankyou to the 50 dedicated volunteers who helped clean up Baisley Pond this past Saturday! We removed 500 lbs of trash from the park and pond including seven rusty garbage cans, 100 ft of fishing line, 200 ft of kite string and four fishing hooks. This removal helped create a safer and more beautiful environment for the pond’s ecosystem, migratory birds and local park goers.
We’re grateful for Council Speaker Adamas and her team’s support of our stewardship and educational programs. We’d also like to thank our program partners at Partnership for Parks and NYC Parks. Very special appreciation goes out to the groups of volunteers who joined from SEQ Cleanup, Blink Jamaica, Pack 177, Recycle for Education, Phoenix House NY, and Family of Five Foundation.
