Volunteer Cleanup at Plumb Beach

Thanks to the 30 volunteers who cleaned up Plumb Beach on Saturday October 15th!

Also grateful to our program partners Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy and Gateway National Park service for supporting this cleanup. Special shoutout to members from Brooklyn College, West Monroe and to all the students who donated their time to help out on Saturday.

Together we removed 16 bags of trash as well as larger items including a walker, a shopping cart, the top of a boat, a grill and piles of wet clothes.

Much effort was made to retrieve a buried jetski but the high tide worked against our team.

Grateful to City Council Member Mercedes Narcisse for joining us and sponsoring H2O stewardship and education programs.
