In this workshop for teachers we will demonstrate how NYC H2O teaches about the NYC water system using the H2O Hub.
About this event
This workshop takes place via Zoom.
The first portion of the program quickly reviews the city’s water supply system before discussing what happens once water goes ‘down the drain’. We will be using StoryMaps from our NYC H2O Hub to illustrate this massive treatment system (including how large tanker ships are part of the process).
In addition, we’ll touch on one of the charismatic species that has benefited from New York City’s cleaner marine ecosystem. Following this segment, we model how our team engages students in a virtual field trip. You’ll actively participate in an exercise to design a visual map of our water system.
We conclude with highlights of our in-person and virtual offerings this school year!
