Huge thanks to the 90 volunteers who cleaned up the beach Oakwood Beach this past Saturday! We removed 20 bags of trash and unearthed many large items such as two shopping carts, an oil drum, a baby car seat, a shattered old-school TV, and a plastic chair.
Ever thankful to our program partners NRPA and for Partnership for Parks for helping make this cleanup a success. We’d also like to recognize with extra thanks all the students and those who helped out from Monsignor Farrell High School, IS 7, Staten Island Borough President Vito’s office, and Freshkills Park Alliance.
And as always, much thanks goes out to CM Carr and CM Joe Borelli for sponsoring this stewardship event.
