GIS Educator/Project Manager
Kevin Barrett guides our mapping and storytelling curriculum for New York City high schools, which introduces students to geographical information systems (GIS) using local and authentic examples of environmental issues. A Brooklyn-born botanist, Kevin loves to teach New Yorkers about the past and present ecosystems of New York City and the Hudson Valley. He holds a B.S. in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Lehigh University and a Ph.D. in botany from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, specializing in wetland plant ecology.
