Dorothy Fitzpatrick Pier Cleanup @ Lemon Creek Park

On Saturday morning, 110 incredible volunteers helped clean up Dorothy Fitzpatrick Pier at Lemon Creek Park. We removed 50 bags of trash, three large wooden crates, giant ropes, a mattress, a kitchen sink and even a sea turtle skeleton. Council Member Joe Borelli and his team not only helped sponsor this event but came out and helped clean themselves.

Our program partners: the Natural Resources Protection Association, City Parks Foundation, United Activities Unlimited, New York Cares, and Staten Island Zoo helped all helped assist in making this cleanup a success.

Many volunteers attended from local schools including IS 7, Staten Island Tech, Monsignor Farrell High School, St. Joseph’s by the Sea and Tottenville High School.
